Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
Thursday, April 22
Let’s try it again for the Ives Auditorium in Bloomington where we’ll begin with an included lunch of Creamy Chicken Breast, Roasted Red Potatoes, Glazed Carrots, Cold Salad – Chef’s Choice, Dinner Roll and Dessert. (You’re invited to join me for a brief tour of the facility after lunch.) Then we’ll head for the theatre for Breaking Up Is Hard to Do. Set at a Catskills resort in 1960, this is the sweetly comic story of Lois and Marge, two friends from Brooklyn in search of good times and romance over one wild Labor Day weekend. The score showcases 18 Neil Sedaka classics, including Where the Boys Are, Sweet Sixteen, Calendar Girl, Love Will Keep Us Together and, of course, the chart-topping title song Breaking Up Is Hard to Do.
